"Kirtan is a form of purification and liberation. The mantras sensitise us and polish away the clutter in our heads and melt the numbness in our hearts so that we can feel clear, awake and brilliantly alive."
(Quote from Sean Johnson who is a great kirtanist)
We are delighted to be able to meet together again in person, to experience the melting of the heart, into expansive space and to facilitate the liberation of pure sounds that the practice of Kirtan brings!
Because of the vision and generosity of the management of Uprising Yoga Studio, we are able to return to our practice of Kirtan on the second Friday of each month in the beautiful resonant space at Uprising.
The Mantra Meditation practice of Kirtan is a simple and powerful way to meditate through call and response singing. It is an effortless and joyful practice, that by-passes the mind and easily reaches the heart.
The ancient chants contain powerful renewing and transformative energy, that helps us reconnect with the balance and goodness that resides within each one.
No previous singing or chanting experience is needed.
Bring your heart, your voice and/or other instrument if you have one.
