"Kirtan is a form of purification and liberation. The mantras sensitise us and polish away the clutter in our heads and melt the numbness in our hearts so that we can feel clear, awake and brilliantly alive."
Sean Johnson
Ngaa mihi o te Maarama o Matariki,
"Kua haehae ngaahihi o Matariki."
These greetings to you carry the warmth of Aroha and the brightness of the stars of the Matariki Pliades constelleation.
In the turning of the earth at this time we move towards the light of slightly longer days and can see, when the cloud cover parts, the beauty and luminosity of the stars, planets and moon.
If we can stop and breathe for a moment we will surely see the deeper connection we share with all these skyward bodies, the earth, each other and all beings and listen to the understandings and wisdom that these connections illuminate.
Here is a beautiful invitation to connect with other like-hearted beings to sing and chant into fullness the clarity of connectedness with ourselves and all beings, through the practice of Kirtan.
When: Friday 8 July 2022
Time: 7.15-8.30pm
Where: Uprising Yoga Studio
Bookings are helpful: Link here and click on Kirtan scheduled this Friday
